Deja Vu in Bali

Deja Vu in Bali

Hey, So I’m back in Bali this week for the Diamond Mastermind event – I arrived here at the Rimba resort, and am going on stage to teach a segment in about an hour. At 10-days, this is the longest mastermind event we do, where many of our affiliates (or ‘consultants’ as we call them) get together to learn top marketing strategies and to get a fully-operational marketing funnel built for them. It’s going to be a full on week, with a lot of filming and doing dozens of branding videos with the clients. It is really exciting; this is the first time for many that they get to be put on camera. It seems like I was here a few months ago, but it’s actually been over an entire year since I was here for the 2015 Diamond Mastermind. And a LOT has happened since then… By far one of the coolest things we’ve been able to do as a company is pay out over $30 million in commissions to our business consultants. That’s all gone to people just like you who wanted a side income, and started promoting the MOBE business education products. The majority of those commissions were paid to these people when they leveraged one marketing system, which you can now try for free, for 7 days. If you don’t have a HTAM (High Ticket Affiliate Marketing) offer like the one you get with this system, you are losing out on some serious money. Let me know what you think after you’ve been using it for a couple days. Talk soon, I’m off to the seminar room to teach a...

“Should I hire virtual staff, or local ones?” (Video + tour of new MOBE headquarters)

Hey, So I’m writing this from my suite here in Ko Samui in Thailand.  I’m here for 3 days, just checking out resorts for future MOBE Masterminds. And I’m also traveling around with a real estate agent looking at some of the smaller resorts for sale. If I can find one that’s cheap enough, but also large enough for what we need, I may consider buying it just for MOBE. It needs to have space to build a seminar room, and there must be something special about it (eg. it’s on a beach, or on a hill with an amazing view). If you’re into real estate investing and want to get an idea of what kind of prices these smaller resorts go for, add me on Snapchat (username is ‘mattlloydmobe’).  I’m giving short tours of each property and all the details on costs. Anyway… While I’m off traveling, MOBE as a company continues to run smoothly.  There’s an amazing team of over 180 staff around the world who handle our sales, live events, customer service, tech, design, finance, copywriting… all of that stuff. Which brings me to today’s topic. All the time I get asked by new online entrepreneurs: “Should I hire my first few staff from my local area, or, should I build a virtual team and hire using sites like Upwork.com?” So in Episode 400 of Ask Matt Lloyd I thought I’d give you a detailed answer. I also give you a full tour of our brand new 6,000 square foot office, in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Watch it here. Hope you enjoy it. You know, back in 2009 when I hired...

[Video] “To start making decent money online, how much time do I need to invest each day?”

Hey, It’s been awhile since I sent out a live broadcast email – I’ve been working on a ton of different things this past week. One of them in particular could benefit you a lot. It’s a way you can start closing big deals online (that pay up to 10k per sale), without having to do the sales calls yourself. The best part is, is you can try it out for free for 7 days, before deciding if it’s worth the price I’m asking (which I’m sure you’ll agree is more than reasonable). More on that in my next email.   For today, I wanted to share with you this video I recently shot in the MOBE film studio with one of our clients. One of the most common questions I get from newer online entrepreneurs is; “How much time am I going to have to spend on this each day to start making good money?” Watch this short video for my answer. Remember, it’s not about the hours you put in.  It’s about what you focus on during those hours. Hope that helps, and keep an eye out for my next email. Matt PS.  I’m starting to share a lot more personal stuff from my life on Snapchat, if you’re interested.  I do talk a lot about MOBE, but I also talk about where I’m investing my money, what I’m focussed on, etc. Like yesterday afternoon for example, I was going and looking for a particular Gold Rolex watch.  It wasn’t for me.  It’s for a guy called Darren Salkeld, as a reward for crossing 10m in total commissions as...
Story about the biggest business ‘epiphany’ I ever had (at least for I.M.)

Story about the biggest business ‘epiphany’ I ever had (at least for I.M.)

Hey, Quick story for you: when I got started online back in late 2008, I joined this direct sales program. It was a 2k buy in, and 4 months later I’d spend another 38k to buy the back-end programs (which were masterminds). Back then, I didn’t have the slightest clue what WordPress was, let alone how to use it.  So to get my first website up I used the same company out of Sydney everyone in that company was using. For $400, I had a templated website like every other rep. The domain I got for it was ‘TheRoadLeastTravelled.com,’ which I thought it sounded cool (in hindsight, it was a terrible name for an online business!) Next up, I needed traffic. So I caught the bus into Perth city, went to Boffins bookstore, and ordered a stack of books on traffic. One of them happened to be by a guy called Perry Marshall, who I’d learn was a Google Adwords guru. The analogy he gave in his book has been the single most valuable business lesson I’ve learned in the last 7 years. It’s about how the Wright brothers and Samuel Langley were competing to be the first men to fly, and how their different approaches to building their aircrafts matched that of online entrepreneurs. “It’s not about building a more powerful engine; it’s about building a better flying structure optimized to fly.” Translation: It’s not about getting more cheaper traffic in ever increasing quantities to your website; it’s about designing a website and selling process that can convert traffic into buyers at the optimal rate. Once you solve that, your...

See this yet? (video must watch …)

Hey, I was thinking about what lesson I could share with you in today’s email, reflecting on what I’ve learned these past few years about making money online, when I was struck by a realization; I’ve been doing this for 8 years. How time flies … So today, I’m going to go a little bit deeper than usual, and share some advice I wish someone had taught me when starting out. If you want to do well in this business, here’s what you’re going to need: Discipline. Discipline is doing the essential things every day in your business, even when you don’t feel like doing them. This entire weekend I’m at a hotel close by to where I live, and I’ve been working on (and will continue to work on) an entirely new brand new training program. This is now the 3rd weekend I’ve done this, and each time I work in 1 hour blocks, for 30 hours over 3 days before I allow myself to go home. There’s a part of me which wants to take a break and go do something else. I’d love to go watch a movie instead, or, go to some bar tonight and have a few drinks. But I’ve committed to getting a certain number of hours of writing done today, and I’m not done yet. So I push myself to keep typing. This is how I try to approach my business every day. Normally it’s not this intense, but I still make sure the essential things get done. If I haven’t emailed my list in awhile and I know it’s been too...
