What’s the Most Important Marketing Strategy?

What’s the Most Important Marketing Strategy?

If you are promoting affiliate marketing products, there are many different marketing strategies you can choose from. So which is the most important? To be successful in this industry, the most important thing for you to learn is direct response marketing. But many people who are starting out have the first instinct to do brand advertising … For example, they focus on getting their new logo, getting the business cards made up, getting the fancy website and all that, but all that is a waste of time for a brand new business starting out. Because you’re not making ANY money! In the very beginning, you should be focused on just one thing—getting customers. In other words, you need cash flow. You need to find the quickest way to get paying customers in front of you, so you can get that cash coming in and fund the growth of your business. But so many people make this over-complicated, when it’s really just a matter of thinking, “What is the shortest path between where I am today and me getting my first customer?” Is the shortest path placing an ad in the local newspaper? Placing an ad in a magazine that your niche is going to read? Is it going online and placing a Facebook Ad and targeting a certain audience?” You want to pick that shortest path to making a sale, and then use direct response marketing to get that sale. Direct response marketing, basically means you’re putting out marketing to a specific target audience, and there is a very specific call-to- action. Here are some examples of calls-to- action...
The Top-Six Ways to Create Your First Webinar

The Top-Six Ways to Create Your First Webinar

If you’re just beginning with online marketing, one of the first things you’ll learn is you should always be creating new content for your prospects. And one of the best ways to product new content is conducting sales webinars. But here’s the problem … Most people don’t even know where to begin when it comes to creating online content. Here are six tips you can use to get started. 1. Learn how to use GoToWebinar The first thing you should do is to learn how to use GoToWebinar. To get started, just Google “GoToWebinar“ and sign up for the 30-day free trial. Follow the step-by- step training they have, and they’ll walk you through how to create your first webinar. It always seems very hard when you’re doing it the first time. But once you’ve done it a couple of times, it’s actually really quite simple. As far as webinar content, you should ask yourself, “What’s the big benefit to my audience? What do have experience to train them on?“ In the Internet marketing industry, the big topics are usually how to get leads or traffic—anything to do with getting more traffic for your business or more leads. That’s what everyone wants. It’s not always the main thing they need, but that’s what they think they will need. In your case, if you’ve made a few sales, you might ask yourself, “How did I get those sales? What exactly did I do?“ Then base your webinar on what you did to actually make those sales. For example, let’s say so you got some sales using Facebook pay-per- click …...
The Right Way, and the Wrong Way, to Follow up with New Emails in Your Back Office

The Right Way, and the Wrong Way, to Follow up with New Emails in Your Back Office

Recently we were at one of our Mastermind live events in Fiji, and I was talking with Celine, one of our Diamond members. Celine started promoting about three months ago, and she had a very good question for me … “Matt, when we see people’s email in our MOBE back office, whether it’s new leads or customers, to what extent can we get in touch with those people, or should we leave them alone completely and let the MOBE office follow up with them? ” This is a really important question, because it applies to all MOBE consultants … When you go to your MOBE back office and you see new email address, whether it’s a new opt-in or someone who actually buys a product, you should contact them. But there’s a right way, and a wrong way to do it. First of all, let’s talk about email CAN-SPAM Laws. A few years back, there were some unethical marketers mass e-mailing millions of people and pushing their products. In response, the authorities set up regulations called the CAN-SPAM Laws, where technically you cannot take email addresses of people who haven’t yet given you their permission, and add them into your own email autoresponder so that you can start following up. People must “opt-in” their name and email for you to contact them. In reality, it’s very unlikely that some federal agency is going to come chasing after you because you take one email address and add them into an autoresponder. But I’m going leave that for you to decide. Personally, if I was starting out in this industry...
The Top-6 Proven Tips for Email Conversions

The Top-6 Proven Tips for Email Conversions

If you are new to email marketing, if you have a smaller list, or if you make less than $200,000 with you’re online business … Here are six proven ways to get a huge advantage and increase your email conversions. 1. Ask Them to Reply if Interested The biggest mistake most email marketers make is they don’t *encourage people to reply back if they are interested. Let me explain … When you send you’re email to a list of subscribers—whether you have 5,000 people or 10,000 people—you should be sending an email at least once a week. In your weekly email, there needs to be some call-to-action that says, “Hey, if you’re interested in this offer, or if you want to learn more about what I’m talking about, just reply back to this email and let me know.” You should always be watching the inbox to see how many people actually reply back. Don’t be shocked if you don’t get much response. It’s just like any sales—a numbers game. And it’s just a fact that most people won’t reply back. But the moment someone does reply back, then you can start to engage them and lead them into your sales funnel. What we do in email marketing—and really in all direct response marketing—is we build up a list of people—an audience. We market to them and then we ask for a response, then we ask for them to raise their hands and say Hey, I’m interested. Then we isolate them to the side, and in a more personal environment, we communicate with them more one-on-one and we sell...
Getting more juice out of the lemon

Getting more juice out of the lemon

Hey, So the first thing they tell you when you go in search of a few extra dollars online, is you must “learn how to promote other people’s offers as an affiliate.”  That is, learn how to drive traffic to a website. Some of the people who click end up buying… and you get paid. Next, they tell you to start building a list.  A list of email addresses which you can email at any time, and produce ‘income-on-demand.’ What usually happens though for most, is somewhere between the 0 – 3,000 email subscriber count, email marketing can be very ‘hit and miss.’ Some days you’ll get the odd sale.  But then you can go for weeks… with nothing. Nada. Zilch! And it can be very frustrating.  I remember being at this stage somewhere myself, back in 2010. Thankfully I didn’t give up, and over the years that same email list has now grown to close to 1,000,000 subscribers! But don’t be too impressed by that. Most of those 1m subscribers are unengaged or completely unresponsive.  This is natural for all lists.  As the list ages, people lose interest, change email addresses, etc… so responsiveness goes down. These days when I email my main list, I’m reaching out to about 300,000 people in the ‘responsive segment,’ and I might get about 20,000 opens. Anyway, lets get back to that early stage of list building where you’re between 0 – 3,000 leads. At a mastermind I did recently I brought one of our attendees up on stage who was having this problem, and he asked: “Matt, I’ve got this list of 3,000 email addresses,...
Explained on a boat in Spain—the 1 thing you must do daily to get paid.

Explained on a boat in Spain—the 1 thing you must do daily to get paid.

Hey, You know, even after all these years of doing online marketing full time, I still get constantly distracted with petty, stupid, insignificant, non-income producing things when I’m trying to focus on building my business. I must have wasted 45 minutes already today watching people’s Snapchat videos, browsing though my Facebook news feed, and watching all the US election videos on Youtube. It’s a constant battle to eliminate distractions and pull my focus back on to the important, high leverage, high revenue tasks … So you’re not alone if you suffer from this. Everyone does—what’s important is that you vigilantly monitor what you’re doing in any given moment and ask, “is this the highest leverage use of my time?” High performance people answer ‘yes’ to that question a lot more than the rest of the masses. If you’re not happy with the amount of money you’re making right now in your business, it all comes down to how you’re spending your minutes throughout the day. A couple months back I was in Spain hosting our Platinum Mastermind, and we rented out a few boats to take our attendees on for a sunset cruise. Danny, one of our attendees, asked why so many people fail to make decent money online. After I explained why, I then took a few minutes to explain the main thing you need to focus on every day to bring in the dollars. Watch it Here. I hope this video brings you clarity. I’m off for a run, before getting into tonight’s meetings. Talk soon, Matt PS. If you’re in a rush and can’t watch the...
